I think even if you're a Republican who believes the best way to grow the private sector is to squash the public sector, you don't really get a sense of accomplishment from this graphic.
In case you're wondering what in the world it is depicting, it's simply a snapshot of 2011 employment. The two sectors to lose jobs for the year were information and government. Other than that, it wasn't too bad of a year for job creation. Wasn't anything spectacular, just not as bad as the three previous years.
Personally I would like to see Construction quadrupled and Government adding about 100,000 for the year. That would give us about 384,000 more and much needed jobs for the year. Who would be against an additional 384,000 jobs made up mostly of the private sector? Republicans that's who. Since we have a Democratic president, adding one net government job equals Socialism and a Big Government takeover of society. But losing 280,000 public sector jobs this year didn't make us any more Free or give anyone anymore Liberty than before did it?
