Ed Shultz Radio and Me

I was just on the Ed Shultz radio show talking about the very post below concerning why there was a need for the federal government to step in and pass the Civil Rights Act in the first place. IT WAS BECAUSE ALLOWING LOCALITIES TO GOVERN CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS FAILED MISERABLY. And that's the system Rand Paul says should have been left untouched by the feds. Paul isn't even trying to argue facts. He's simply trying to pretend history never happened. The free markets Paul so likes to talk about, do not weed out social injustices.  Why?  Because they are inherently biased.

The same mentality as Rand Paul today existed during the early republic.  The Founders, and many people of the era, thought slavery would eventually run its course and die off.  It didn't.  It took the federal government stepping in to ensure that everyone was created equal.  A hundred years after that, the feds had to step in again to force local governments to abide.  There is no sane reason to go back to the system Paul is advocating.  It was barbaric and it failed.
