The biggest issue with the Blue Dog Democrats is their self return to fiscal conservatism. These people voted for 8 years with George W. Bush. How can they possibly claim to care about fiscal responsibility? But it goes a little further than that. The media, too, portrays them as the fiscal sanity of the Democratic Party. The conservative Blue Dogs argue that the health care bill will cost too much without fixing the ailing health care system. That has to be a joke. Never did they flinch to spend a trillion dollars fighting endless war. Never did they flinch to vote for 8 straight unbalanced deficit budgets. Why pretend they now all of a sudden care about costs and fixing things? Their concerns are arbitrary and have no track record of evidence to support. Just call them on it. And while we're at it, tell them their publicly financed health care plan will cease to exist unless they vote to extend the benefit to others.
Really, let's get this straight: Fiscal conservatives are people who have a socialized public health care plan, voted for 8 straight deficit-laden budgets, helped run up the largest deficit in the world, and raise their families entirely on tax payer money. C'mon this is insane people. Call them on it!!
*Update:
More complete fabrications from the MSM:
A group of fiscally conservative House Democrats announced Wednesday they reached a deal with the chamber's Democratic leaders on a health care reform bill.No they aren't. There is nothing fiscally conservative about them. It is a complete fabrication of the truth to suggest Blue Dogs have the least bit of concern for fiscal matters, at least there is nothing in their past record that would suggest they do.
Ross and the Blue Dogs had threatened to derail the bill in the Energy and Commerce Committee because of concerns that it costs too much and failed to address systemic problems in the nation's ailing health care industry.
How can you label people who voted with George Bush 99% of the time, and cared not one bit about costs or paying for things for 8 years, as a "fiscal conservative?" You can't! At least not honestly you can't. What does that make the many Democrats who did not vote with George Bush, opposed his deficit-filled budgets and actually supported spending a trillion dollars here at home instead of on Glorious War? According to the very serious MSM they are tax and spend liberals. This has to be an episode of the Twilight Zone.
