Like most people in Southern Illinois last Friday I was gearing up for graduation weekend at SIU. As it turned out Mother Nature would have much different plans for all of us. Sustained hurricane strength winds, combined with torrential rainfall
left widespread damage throughout
Egypt early Friday afternoon. The disaster filled weekend has yet to end. As I type this I'm still without power but have been graciously loaned a generator to get through the next couple days. The blog will be slowly returning to normal; in the meantime, however, I want to follow up a bit on what exactly hit Southern Illinois on Friday.
