GOP: We Stuck it In Hard to the Prez and Broke it Off!

Posted by Chris On Feb. - 5 - 2010

Republicans try to cash in on their Q A session with President Obama by delusionaly claiming they proved they were offering solutions and steadily handled the president's factual inaccurate answers. Too bad many independent outside fact-checking groups have directly labeled the GOP as "far from the truth."

The Revolution Will Not Be Televised

Let the Tea Bagger revolution begin in Illinois. Illinois 12th congressional district gets a tea bagging cougar that's about to rock Rep. Costello's world. Bring a rag cause we aren't responsible for flying spew.

Tea Baggers Taking It on the Chin

Posted by Chris On Jan. - 29 - 2010

The Freedom Fighting Tea Baggers are taking some smacks over their Revolutionary Convention scheduled in Nashville next month. The only thing worse than cleaning up the gooey mess afterward is knowing it's so messed up Michelle Bachmann wants no part of it.

Greater Than Greatness

The other day I linked to a Matt Yglesias post describing how those who want to pretend conservatism had nothing to do with the massive GOP defeats of the last two years will circle their wagons around the fact that Bush wasn’t one of them, even though he most assuredly is one of them. I fully agree with that fact but added such a notion ignores those who could care less about conservatism or even have a clue what “movement conservatism” even is and still decree Bush to be a great president right now and will be justly redeemed by history for the later generations. I’d have to say I’m pretty dead on with my addendum.
Kent Says:

Good, decent, reasonable, patriotic Americans know and understand that President Bush is a great man who did great things.

The ignorant haters don't matter as far as I'm concerned.

Kent Says:

I get your point Andrew and it's a good one. But maybe I've just ceased to care. As you said, fair/unfair, I know in my heart and in my mind that President Bush did his best.

Now, that's not to say that he didn't screw the pooch on some things, (More on that January 20, look for it) but all in all, he's done a great job.

Let's just say for the time being that I place President Bush in a category with President Reagan. Different men, different times to be sure, but men of good moral character who placed the country above everything else.

That -- and that alone -- makes a President great.
Only "good," "decent," "reasonable," and don't forget "patriotic" Americans know Bush is a great president. If you do not believe Bush to be a great president you are obviously a "hater" and "ignorant." This is what I was referring to when I said there are people right now who already believe Bush to be great and need not wait for history to redeem him. This is "movement conservatism's" final remnants. It is what I commonly refer to as the Republican Fantasy World. Contrary to Yglesias' post, these people don't have to circle the wagons to defend conservatism. They live in a world void of any reasoning or of any knowledge of what conservatism even is. They merely want to talk tough and macho and question anyone's patriotism who doesn't live in their Fantasy World. Really, the whole comment section sums up completely the point I'm trying to make.
